Petro Burkovskyi is head of Center for Advanced Russia Studies at the National Institute for Strategic Studies (Kyiv, Ukraine). On civil service since 2005. Holds MA in Political Science from the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (2004). Alumnus of the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies (2007). Completed Defence management course at the Cranfield University, Defence Academy of UK (2015). Areas of expertise: history, comparative analysis, constitutional law, decision making process, security policy, energy policy, international relations. Since 2004 engaged in the civil society activity, working as an independent analyst for media watchdog “Detector Media”, tracking political propaganda influence and manipulation. Since 2017 - senior fellow of Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation. Happily married, together with wife Tetiana bringing up son and daughter.
