The result of the Global Peace Summit is that it sets three important initial conditions for Russia to start peace talks

Petro Burkovskіy,  Executive Director of the Democratic Initiatives Foundation, commented on the results of the  Global Peace Summit in Switzerland for Sky News Arabia.

The result of this summit is that it sets three important initial conditions for Russia to start peace talks and prove that Russia is capable of negotiating.

The first key condition is the security of Ukraine and that Russian troops must leave nuclear facilities and not threaten to blow up nuclear power plants. The Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, which was occupied by Russian troops in March 2022, must operate safely and securely under full sovereign control of Ukraine. This is what is important for regional and global stability in the field of nuclear safety.

The second precondition, which is important, is that here, as in the Gaza conflict, all Ukrainian hostages, prisoners of war, Ukrainian children and those who have been abducted from Ukraine, which is hundreds of thousands of people, must be released and promised that they will be returned to Ukraine.

The third condition concerns freedom of navigation - all civilian and cargo vessels must be able to sail freely from Ukraine, including to the Middle Eas.
