US troops move to counter Russian threat to NATO in Europe

US tanks along with some 3,000 troops began arriving in Poland on Thursday.

They're part of President Barack Obama's response to reassure NATO allies concerned about a more aggressive Russia after Moscow's annexation of Crimea.

It's one of the largest deployments of US forces in Europe since the Cold War -- and has already sparked anger from Moscow, with the Kremlin describing it as a "threat" on its "doorstep."
